ADELE AND THE OTHERS
A BOOK ABOUT HER FAMILY AND MUCH MORE

17 x 24 cm | 28 pages | English and Italian texts | Hardcover | ISBN 978-3-944858-57-9 | 15 €

Do you have a grandma that smells like flowers? A well-traveled uncle? A colorful cat and siblings? And what do you do when you are all together? Puppet theater, board games, cookies for all?
Or do you watch movies? Do you know stories about your great-grandmothers, and great-grandfathers? And what about your great-aunts and great-uncles?

A family is made up of many people, many more than Adele could possibly show you in this book. This is because most of them are no longer in this world. However, in the family they continue to live on in our memories. Every family is very special. And this Adele’s special family.

Gerlinde Meyer (Leipzig, 1979) studied illustration at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. She works as a graphic artist and illustrator for exhibitions, individuals, magazines and agencies.
All the pictures for this book were first created as woodcuts. Gerlinde Meyer originally printed them in red, her favorite color, then scanned them and added two other colors using a computer. She enjoys
experimenting with new techniques and combining them with traditional techniques such as woodcuts. This resulted in a very special visual language for a very special book.
